**The team - Global Sourcing Indirect and Direct Materials**

You will be joining an international team of Global Sourcing Managers and Specialists for Indirect and Direct spend located in different countries. We are a newly established team and have an important task ahead of us as we identify opportunities, design, develop, deploy purchasing strategies while granting continuity and consistent company growth. We have a lean, pragmatic and operational approach to support our Stakeholders and Business Partners, but also chip in and help each other where it is needed.

**The role -**

In this role, you will manage the spend categories of Indirect Materials and Services with full ownership to negotiate and manage vendor purchases of goods and services across the business and for multiple locations.
- Duties and Responsibilities_
- Develop and maintain category strategies to meet business objectives (e.g. best cost, quality, service) and ensure category strategy aligns with existing and future needs
- Negotiate high level contracts with ease, ensuring that business and category objectives are achieved
- Identify and unlock potential synergies among geographies
- Initiate and execute vendor rationalization plan(s) to optimize existing vendors to deliver cost reduction, supply assurance, quality improvement and innovation
- Develop parameters and supplier negotiation plans and conduct supplier negotiations per assignment
- Review existing contracts and understand business requirements; formulate guidelines and design standard vendor contract protocols
- Assist to establish vendor life-cycle strategy to oversee planning, sourcing and selection of new vendors, manage data for vendor performance and manage vendor off-boarding and transition
- Identify and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs without compromising supply assurance or quality
- Proactively work to resolve performance issues with assigned suppliers to ensure effective and timely resolution
- Work closely with global, regional and local organizations in executions of the approved strategy and budgeting processes
- Liaise with all internal stakeholders (e.g. Logistic, Quality, Finance, Production, R&D, etc.) to ensure their engagement and alignment with the sourcing strategy

**It is you we are looking for?**

**Experience and competences**
- A minimum of 5 years of sourcing/ purchasing experience is required, preferably in an international environment and organisation
- Proven previous experience in managing Transport, Services and other Indirect Material spends
- Ability to negotiate with multinational suppliers as well as local vendors and strong analytical skills
- Capable of challenging the conventional wisdom, be open-minded, innovative and self-confident in the face of resistance
- Possess good business acumen
- Knowledge of the sourcing processes and tools, including use of e-auction tool
- Possess a working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs (knowledge of SAP would be a plus)
- Must be a self-starter who can work independently, but also collaborate within a global team environment

Additional requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of a second language will be a plus
- Availability to international travels (potentially up to 10-15% of the time)
