**Main purpose of position**
Currently we are looking for an HSSE Manager in Aswan, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision - Improving our future. As our HSSE Manager, you will contribute to establishing, implementing and maintaining the HSSE management system for the entire value chain in Egypt and regional project. This role will support the organization in ensuring compliance to the internal HSSE framework and local regulations and best practices. The HSSE Manager will also build and drive a positive company HSSE culture with the goal of zero harm.

**Main responsibilities**
- Be a visible leader in building a positive and compliant HSSE culture on our sites in Egypt, Aswan and other projects in the MENA region.
- Manage and mentor the current HSSE team on site (i.e., Coordinators, officers, etc.)
- Support Scatec’s global ISO certification process.
- Support Egypt office management on the development, implementation, and continual improvement of Scatec Operating System (HSSE management system).
- Support management to ensure compliance with local regulations, power generation contracts, environmental authorization permits, and other requirements.
- Support management and project teams to achieve Scatec HSSE objectives/KPIs and drive continual improvement initiatives.
- Support Scatec departments (i.e., Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.) on HSSE matters where required.
- Assist delivery projects in establishing project specific HSSE requirements towards contractors.
- Review and approve contractors’ management system documentation.
- Plan and execute training and awareness programs.
- Liaison with authorities and other stakeholders regarding HSSE management.
- Regular reporting to line management, corporate function, and other requirements.
- Plan and execute HSSE internal audits and participate in external audits. And to ensure that audit recommendations are effectively implemented.
- Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated, and mitigation measures implemented accordingly. Also, to encourage an open attitude towards reporting incidents and create open and transparent reporting culture.
- Emergency planning and management of Egypt’s office and sites
- Develop, handle the responsibility of, and act as the rapporteur of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Committee

**Qualifications**
- Education: University Degree or equivalent and/or valid qualification on environment, occupational health, and safety
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSSE management and minimum of 3 years in leading teams.
- In-depth understanding of an HSSE management system
- Team player, building a positive HSSE culture.
- Knowledge of international standards related to HSSE (i.e., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.)
- Knowledge of IFC’s HSSE guidelines, IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, etc.
- Knowledge of HSE laws and regulations.
- Good communication skills, convincing personality, customer, and goal oriented
- Assertiveness and organizational skills
- Experience from matrix organized structures
- Language: fluent both in written and spoken English

- Ability to do good record keeping.
- Good work ethic
- Ability to complete a task in reasonable time with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to supervise a team.
- Ability to work with no supervision.
- Good troubleshooting skills

**Additional information**
- Based in Aswan, preferably from Benban
- Responsible to support MENA region projects and teams i.e., Egypt (Main focus), Jordan, and other projects in the pipeline, on HSSE management and relevant matters.
