We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Accountant to join our dynamic team and contribute to our continued success.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced
Head Accountant
with extensive, hands-on experience specifically within the
contracting industry
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, managing project costs, preparing financial reports, and leading the accounting team to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and local laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and review all daily accounting entries (General Ledger, AP, AR, Banks, Payroll).
  • Manage and monitor project cost accounting (Project Costing) accurately
    , analyze cost variances, and report on project profitability.
  • Prepare and review
    subcontractor billings
    and
    client invoices
    (Owner's progress payments).
  • Manage all
    Letters of Guarantee (LGs)
    —including Tender/Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds, and Advance Payment Bonds—and Letters of Credit (LCs).
  • Prepare and present periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) and analytical reports for senior management.
  • Manage company-wide and project-specific
    cash flow
    , and assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, delegating tasks and reviewing their outputs.
  • Coordinate and manage the relationship with external auditors.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Egyptian tax regulations (VAT, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax) and social insurance laws.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Essential Requirement: Proven, significant experience within the contracting/construction industry is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (Accounting Major) or a related field.
  • Proven experience with ERP Systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or industry-specific contracting software).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are a strong plus.
