Role Purpose
The software account manager is responsible for managing strategic relationships with clients, ensuring that technology solutions meet their business needs with excellence. This role aims to grow revenue from existing accounts, identify new business opportunities, and ensure client satisfaction and loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for all client‐related matters, building and maintaining long‐term, trusting relationships with key stakeholders.
Understand clients' business and technical requirements (software, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, etc.) and translate these into actionable plans.
Develop strategic account plans that outline objectives, opportunities, risks, and resources.
Coordinate with internal technical teams (development, implementation, support) to deliver solutions in terms of quality, timeline, and cost; ensure alignment with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Identify upselling and cross‐selling opportunities to grow revenue within current accounts.
Negotiate contracts, service agreements, pricing, and terms to maximize value for both client and company.
Collaborate closely with sales, product, marketing, finance, and support departments to align on strategy and execution.
Monitor performance metrics (KPIs) such as revenue growth, client retention, delivery timelines, client satisfaction.
Provide regular reports to senior management on account status, challenges, and opportunities.
Address and resolve client escalations or complaints swiftly and effectively.
Stay informed about the latest technological trends and market developments; recommend enhancements to products or services based on client feedback and competition.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 3‐5 years in account management or a similar client‐facing role within the IT/technology sector; preferably experience with enterprise accounts.
Technical Understanding Strong knowledge of software solutions, IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity; familiarity with CRM tools and project management software.
Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (and other languages as needed); strong presentation, listening, and negotiation abilities.
Analytical Skills Ability to analyze data, interpret reports, and make strategic recommendations.
Organizational Skills Capacity to manage multiple accounts/projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and attention to detail.
Personal Traits Proactive, self‐motivated, adaptable, emotionally intelligent, able to work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or credentials in strategic account management.
Experience with major CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho).
Domain‐specific expertise (SaaS, ERP, cybersecurity, cloud solutions).
Experience working with C‐level executives and involvement in technical presentations or RFPs
