Scope of the Role

The Mid-Level QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, and reliability of fintech applications through manual and automated testing. The role includes executing test strategies, contributing to test automation, and collaborating with development and product teams to deliver stable and secure software.

Purpose of the Role

The Mid-Level QC Engineer contributes by:

  • Executing effective test strategies for fintech products.
  • Participating in the development and maintenance of automation scripts.
  • Performing manual and exploratory testing for key business functionalities.
  • Logging, tracking, and verifying defects.
  • Supporting compliance with security, performance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support high-quality releases.

Nature of the Role

  • Quality Assurance Execution:
    Follows established QA processes and test frameworks.
  • Automation Support:
    Develops and maintains automation test scripts.
  • Manual Testing:
    Performs functional, UI/UX, and exploratory testing.
  • Team Collaboration:
    Works with developers, PMs, and DevOps to improve quality.

Key Responsibilities1. Test Design & Execution

  • Develop and execute test cases for web and mobile fintech applications.
  • Participate in planning functional, regression, and security test cycles.
  • Ensure adequate test coverage based on requirements.

2. Automation Testing

  • Build and update automation test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Appium.
  • Support API automation using Postman or RestAssured.
  • Assist in optimizing automated test execution and reliability.

3. Manual & Functional Testing

  • Conduct manual functional, UI/UX, and exploratory testing.
  • Perform cross-browser and cross-device tests.

4. Performance Support

  • Assist in executing performance and load tests using tools like JMeter.
  • Help identify performance issues and report findings.

5. Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Work closely with developers on defect reproduction and resolution.
  • Provide feedback to improve QA processes and documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QA team.

Authority

  • Can propose improvements in testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Responsible for prioritizing and managing assigned test cases.
  • Authorized to escalate defects and risks that affect release quality.

Experience & Qualifications
Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in software testing (manual and automation).
  • Experience working with fintech applications, payment systems, or financial platforms is a plus.

Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills

  • Automation Tools:
    Selenium, Cypress, Appium, TestNG, RestAssured.
  • Manual Testing:
    Functional, UI/UX, API, regression, exploratory.
  • Performance Tools:
    JMeter or similar.

Soft Skills

  • Analytical Thinking:
    Ability to investigate functional and technical issues.
