We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced
Production Engineer
to join our team, specializing in the manufacturing and processing of
Wood Flat Panels
(such as MDF, HDF, Laminated/Veneered Panels). The candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring all stages of production to ensure the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and the achievement of production targets. This role requires in-depth knowledge of flat panel production lines, associated technology, and strong leadership capabilities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Production Operations Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of wood flat panel production lines, including cutting, laminating/pressing, edge banding, and final finishing processes.
  • Ensure operations run according to established schedules and meet required quality specifications.

Production Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop detailed short- and medium-term production plans based on sales orders and inventory management requirements.
  • Determine material requirements and coordinate with the procurement department for timely delivery.
  • Effectively manage the utilization of machinery and equipment to maximize production capacity.

Quality Control (QC):

  • Implement and develop stringent standards and procedures for quality control at every stage of panel production.
  • Analyze the root causes of product defects and implement necessary corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure finished products comply with client technical specifications and international standards.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste (Scrap/Waste), and optimize resource and energy consumption.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles where applicable.
  • Propose suggestions for the development of machinery and production technology.

Equipment Management and Maintenance:

  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to develop preventive maintenance plans for specialized flat panel machinery (e.g., laminating presses, CNC panel saws, edge banding machines).
  • Ensure the availability of essential spare parts to minimize downtime.

Safety and Leadership:

  • Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Train, mentor, and manage the production floor team to enhance their efficiency and performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background:
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Wood Technology).
  • Experience:
    A minimum of
    7 years
    of practical experience in the production sector, with a
    primary and proven focus on the manufacturing and processing of Wood Flat Panels.
  • Specialized Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of
    laminating and pressing techniques
    for flat panels using materials such as Melamine, Natural Veneer, or HPL.
  • Hands-on experience with
    CNC machinery
    for cutting and shaping panels (e.g., Beam Saws and Nesting Machines).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the properties and applications of wood-based panels (MDF, Particleboard, Plywood).
  • Management Skills:
    Strong ability to lead teams, problem-solve, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Software Proficiency:
    Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and production management software.
