The Senior Manager of Business Development will be responsible for identifying and pursuing commercial business deals to drive revenue growth for the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead a direct sales team while managing relationships with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in commercial strategic planning and execution, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives.

The ideal candidate will lead initiatives to generate and engage with business partners to build new business for the company. This candidate will strategically plan their approach to clients and offer compelling solutions to cater for client's needs. They are responsible for maintaining and developing relationships in order to meet sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess new business opportunities, including potential partnerships, alliances, and strategic deals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to secure lucrative commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform business development strategies.
  • Lead and manage a direct sales team, setting clear objectives and KPIs to achieve revenue targets.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their performance and professional growth.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement training sessions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute commercial strategic plans that drive growth and profitability.
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and feedback to refine business strategies and offerings.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to stakeholders on business development activities and outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and finalize contracts to secure profitable deals.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for commercial partners, ensuring effective communication and alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related fields
  • 10+ years' of industry-related business development experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of successful marketing strategies
  • Focused and goal-oriented

Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with a proven track record of generating revenue.
  • Experience managing and leading a direct sales team, with a strong understanding of sales processes and strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial contract negotiation and relationship management.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strategic thinking and planning capabilities, with a focus on driving results
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
