Job Summary

The Fleet Operations Sr.Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the daily operations of a fleet of vehicles within the transportation industry. This role involves coordinating vehicle maintenance, managing driver,assignments, monitoring fleet ,performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The specialist works closely with other departments to ensure efficient fleet utilization and to enhance the overall effectiveness of transportation services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Coordination and Management

Oversee the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring that vehicles are available, operational, and assigned to

drivers as needed.

Manage and coordinate the deployment of vehicles based on operational requirements, ensuring optimal

utilization.

Assign vehicles to drivers based on availability, qualifications, and operational needs.

  • Maintenance and Safety Compliance:

Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs for the fleet to ensure all vehicles

are in safe and operational condition.

Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and servicing.

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

  • Fleet Performance Monitoring:

Analyze fleet performance data, including fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle utilization, to identify

opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fleet operations, providing insights and

recommendations to management.

Implement strategies to reduce operational costs, improve fuel efficiency, and extend the lifespan of fleet

vehicles.

  • Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure that all fleet vehicles have the necessary licenses, registrations, and insurance coverage.

Maintain up-to-date records of all fleet-related documentation, including vehicle titles, registrations,insurance policies, and driver records.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to transportation and fleet

management,issues or concerns that arise.

  • Problem-Solving and Incident Management

Respond to and resolve any operational issues, such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or delays, ensuring

minimal disruption to services.

Implement contingency plans in the event of emergencies or unexpected operational challenges.

Investigate and report on any incidents involving fleet vehicles, including accidents and violations.

  • Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and submit regular reports on fleet operations, including performance metrics, cost analysis, and

incident summaries.

Conduct regular reviews of fleet data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks.

Provide insights and recommendations to management for optimizing fleet operations and reducing costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Fleet or a related role 2-3 years, with a strong understanding of fleet managing principles and techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
