**Project Overview and Role**:
USAID’s Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) project builds on decades of U.S. investments in Egyptian businesses and economic policy with the aim of substantially increasing Egyptian exports from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The TRADE project focuses on seven selected sectors: engineering products, food processing, home têxtiles, ready-made garments, chemicals, building materials, printing and packaging. Through the project, USAID works with the Government of Egypt to improve the trade and investment policy environment and reduce barriers to trade. USAID also partners with business associations and export councils to strengthen the trade services ecosystem for small
- and medium-sized exporters, as well as with private companies to help them access new international markets to increase export sales. TRADE tackles many trade and investment-related issues to sustainably increase Egyptian exports and drive economic growth.
***Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
This role's range of duties and responsibilities encompasses various tasks, all aimed at enhancing the capabilities of TSIs and improving overall trade promotion outcomes. This includes providing guidance and support to TSIs in implementing best practices, optimizing promotional strategies, and effectively managing resources. The International Trade Promotion Optimization Manager will play a vital role in fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among partner TSIs, enabling them to deliver high-quality trade promotion services.
Overall, this position requires a proactive individual who can drive the optimization of trade promotion services while ensuring a strong focus on knowledge transfer and capacity building within TSIs. The Trade Promotion Optimization Manager will play a crucial role in promoting trade excellence and contributing to the overall success of Result 2.
- TASKS
Develop the overall plan for Result 2’s engagement with partner TSIs to assist in the planning and implementation of several B2B matchmaking activities for the different targeted sectors of the project (Engineering Products, Processed Food, Home têxtiles, Ready Made Garments, Chemicals, Printing and Packaging, and Building Materials). Lead the matchmaking projects from requirements definition through deployment, define schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plan.
- Track each project’s scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Cooperate with Result 2 team to ensure onboarding suppliers in Egypt (i.e.: the TSI member companies, establish connections and onboarding buyers from the targeted markets)
- Identify and recruit qualified consultants, facilitator, brokers in potential markets who will be able to define market needs, establish buyer linkages and onboard needed STTAs’ according to the Result’s overall plan.
- Work with the selected consultants/facilitators/brokers in different target markets, to support TSIs in identifying importers, distributors and buyers.
- Cooperate with the Result 2 team in liaising and working with governmental and quasi-governmental entities (e.g., Government agencies, export councils, Egyptian Commercial Services).
- Develop the budgets of different matchmaking activities, tracking reports, final reports, to help Result 2 team in enhancing the business model of export promotion activities followed by partner TSIs and to achieve target exports.
- Coordinate with members of other TRADE teams as necessary.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Analytics; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in matchmaking activities and project management.
- Extensive experience in trade promotion and establishing market linkages.
- Experience collaborating with key internal/external stakeholders; effective in influencing a wide variety of stakeholders; effective communication and relationship building with consultants and trade associations in different export target markets.
- Solid analytical and organizational skills and including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Strong project management skills, self-motivated with a strong work ethic and exceptional drive for results and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Arabic.
- Previous working experience in international trade promotion organizations is a plus.
- PMP certification is a plus.
