**Role**

The General Manager for Egypt will report directly to the founders and be a leading member of the our company team, driving the take-off and growth of the platform in Egypt. Primarily, the BDM will be responsible for developing and executing on our market launch strategy, driving new business and revenue growth and hiring our local team. This will involve building a team, planning and implementing new initiatives, and building the sales process from the ground-up. The General Manager will also be responsible for overseeing financial activities, financial budget and operational costs for the Egypt entity.
**Job requirements**
- Develop the strategy for our company and implement the company’s strategy across the organization in Egypt aligned with the vision/mission of the stakeholders.
- Plan the market penetration strategy and methods for raising the awareness of the services and need for such technology in the Egyptian Market, while performing studies to ensure the services are tailored to fit the needs of the market in Egypt.
- Develop and implement the organization structure, reporting lines, and processes for managing stakeholders and all the diverse functions in the organization, and set the goals (KPIs) for all the functions in the company.
- Identifying the top priority roles that need to be fulfilled for the company’s take-off and initiation, and leading the on-boarding of employees to fill these roles.
- Creating a reporting mechanism to oversee the team’s (direct reports) outcome and reporting the business status to the shareholders.
- Building an internal dynamic culture that encourages the development of people and ensuring the team’s alignment to achieve their targets.
- Oversee financial activities, and analyze accounting and financial data.
- Manage and plan operational costs and company’s budget.
- Studying market demands and customer feedback and developing a mechanism for problem solving regarding market, vendors, partners and clients activities with coordination with the shareholders (eg. CTO).
**Skills Required**:

- Strong initiative and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Ability to work autonomously in a team environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to drive strategy for business development.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce & marketplaces.
- Interest in the field of agriculture preferred but not required.
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration or relevant field.
- 3-5 years experience in Business Development/Expansion in an e-commerce/marketplace business.
- Experience in accounting and financial management.
**Prior Experience**: Ideally a leadership position at an e-commerce or marketplace company (could be larger like Noon / Souq or even smaller startups)

A background in Agriculture is not required, but they must show excitement for the idea and role and being part of a growing team.
