**Position**: Accounting Supervisor

**Organization**: O-Trade & Logistics

The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient processes. This role involves managing month-end close, and internal controls.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Financial Reporting & Compliance**:

- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate audits (internal/external) and liaise with auditors.
- Work with departments (e.g., HR, Operations) to align financial strategies.
- ** Month-End & Year-End Close**:

- Lead the month-end closing process, including reconciliations (bank, GL, etc.).
- Review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for accuracy.
- Assist in annual budget preparation and variance analysis.
- ** Process Improvement**:

- Identify inefficiencies and implement best practices in accounting processes.
- Ensure robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- ** Payroll & Treasury Oversight**:

- Supervise payroll processing and ensure timely tax filings.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and vendor payments.
- ** Supervision & Leadership**:

- Manage and mentor Kenya accounting staff.
- Assign tasks, review work, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
- 5+ years in accounting/finance, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel, and financial reporting.
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and communication.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA (a plus).
- Excellent English is a must.
