Technical Office Section Head

About the job:

To lead and manage engineering projects from design through implementation, ensuring high-quality technical solutions, timely delivery, and adherence to budget and safety standards. The role oversees design development, contractor management, and stakeholder coordination while providing engineering expertise to support project planning, execution, and post-implementation activities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Working as a lead engineer on multiple CAPEX projects in a fast paced and dynamic process driven environment.
• Lead technical engineering team to generate design drawings, design calculation and bill of material
• Lead design review meetings with stack holders and vendors.
• Diligent contractor selection and management across all project phases.
• Focusing on ensuring the agreed budget, time and financial expenditure forecasting targets are met.
• Providing support to the business during the project lifecycle, e.g., bid tendering through to post implementation, accurately estimating cost, resources, timeline and risk for engineering projects and activities.
• Contributing to developing the design of engineering solutions and systems within the built environment
• Producing electrical designs and drawings for a wide range of projects
• Producing reports to support design concepts that show compliance with standards and best practice guides.
• Producing electrical engineering specifications for a wide range of projects.
• Carrying out site surveys inspecting existing installations in accordance with regulation.
• Carrying out inspections on ongoing installations reviewing progress, quality, and performance
• Contributing to developing the design of engineering solutions and systems within the built environment

Additional:

• Electrical design experience - either through study or experience
• Experience in electrical engineering, civils or renewables is a big plus
• Excellent attention to detail with a logical, methodical approach to planning and clear focus when prioritizing objectives.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements within an industrial environment.
• Driven to continually improve standards.
• Proficient in Gant chart programming

Educational background, Skills and Experience required:

• Electrical design experience - either through study or experience
• Experience in electrical engineering, civils or renewables is a big plus.
• 5 to 8 years' experience in the technical office Department
• Excellent attention to detail with a logical, methodical approach to planning and clear focus when prioritizing objectives.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements within an industrial environment.
• Develop and implement new ideas/concepts that have impact on Short /Medium term future business performance.
• Proficient in Gant chart programming to manage executing the projects designs, & preliminary proposals.
• Professional in AutoCAD, MS-office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Decisions relating to day-to-day operations of the enterprise are taken at lower levels of management.
• Able to manage concurrent schedules and competing priorities.
• Knowledge of Electrical Code, PV-related sections.
• Experience with medium voltage system design highly desirable
• Experience with system modeling and production estimation software is highly desirable.
• Qualitative information: non-predefined task/ non-routine communication such as dealing with complaints that requires advanced communication skills to solve problems or negotiating with people to take a certain course of action
