Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven
Country Manager
to support the growth of our operations in
Kenya
within the renewable energy and electrical distribution sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic relationships, and contributing to the company's long-term success in
solar power projects, LV & MV switchgear, and transformers
.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a
Customer Brand Ambassador
, enabling customer approvals for all
Ona
products (including solar solutions, LV/MV switchgear, transformers) with consultants, end-users, government organizations, utilities, panel builders, and EPC contractors by providing tailored technical solutions. - Work very closely with the
Kenya sales team
to support technical conversion of large panel builder accounts and act as
Product + Application Expert
for solar and electrical distribution solutions. - Act as a
pre-sales technical consultant
to identify and present appropriate Ona solutions for solar PV, LV/MV, and transformer projects to target consultants, approval organizations, channel partners, and customers. - Enable
consultant management, consultant mapping, and product approvals
by meeting consultants, project owners, and end-users to gain acceptance and include Ona in vendor lists. - Develop an
opportunity pipeline
at each approved consultant and end-customer, share with the sales team, and track opportunity conversion with sales leaders. - Focus on building a
large-scale solar and electrical infrastructure project pipeline
in Kenya, ensuring capture in Salesforce. Identify projects at the specification stage and enroll Ona as a preferred supplier. Push Ona product specs into bids to influence contractors and end-users. - Provide support in preparing
bid packages
for solar and electrical projects, including technical submittals, drawings, and direct coordination with project consultants and clients. - Stay updated on
competitor products and solutions
(especially solar, LV/MV switchgear, and transformers) and prepare comparative analyses to highlight Ona's advantages. - Develop and share
references, case studies, and application examples
to support pre-sales opportunities in renewable energy and electrical distribution. - Provide
post-sales application support
, including product commissioning, troubleshooting, and coordination with the plant on quality or technical issues. - Ensure ongoing
customer support and satisfaction
to promote repeat business. - Achieve
New Product Intensity
targets for all new products introduced into the Kenyan market (solar, EV chargers, LV/MV equipment, transformers). - Support
Marketing and Product Management
in developing technical training modules for internal and external stakeholders focused on solar, LV/MV, and transformers. - Support
Marketing and Product Management
in developing marketing materials tailored for the renewable energy and electrical distribution market in Kenya. - Utilize in-depth product knowledge to prepare
customer-specific, segment-specific, and sales-specific technical presentations
. - Answer technical application questions, implement growth plans, provide sales support, and conduct
competition/market analysis
to drive product development in the renewable energy and electrical sector. - Actively contribute to positioning
Ona
as a leading partner in
solar power, LV/MV switchgear, and transformer solutions in Kenya
.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
in Electrical / Electronics Engineering is a must. - Minimum 4 – 8 years of experience
in Business Development, Sales, Marketing, or Product Management in renewable energy, electrical distribution, or industrial equipment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep technical expertise in
solar PV projects, LV/MV switchgear, transformers, fuses, and EV chargers
. - Strong understanding of
Kenya's renewable energy and power distribution market
. - Excellent
