Role Description

The Senior Structural Design Engineer is responsible for leading the structural design of concrete and steel projects. They ensure compliance with codes and standards while delivering safe and efficient designs. The role involves coordination with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers. Strong technical expertise and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

Structural Design & Analysis

  • Perform advanced structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures in accordance with international codes and standards.
  • Ensure structural integrity, safety, and compliance with project specifications and regulations.

Technical Documentation

  • Prepare and review design drawings, calculation sheets, technical reports, and design specifications.
  • Coordinate with CAD/BIM teams to develop accurate structural drawings and models.

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines to ensure full design integration.
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide technical input to support project decisions.

Quality Control & Design Validation

  • Review and approve designs prepared by junior engineers.
  • Conduct design checks and value engineering to optimize cost and performance.

Site & Construction Support

  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including review of shop drawings and response to RFIs.
  • Conduct site visits to verify that construction is carried out in accordance with design intent.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

  • Supervise and mentor junior structural engineers and drafters.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, procedures, and best engineering practices.

Software Proficiency

  • Utilize advanced structural design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and Revit Structure.

Reporting & Client Interaction

  • Prepare progress reports, presentations, and technical proposals for clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding design issues and project progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in
    civil
    or
    architectural
    engineering.
  • 8:10
    Years of Experience.
  • Proven experience in technical management, product development and structural analysis.
  • PMP certification is preferred
