Job Summary

The Assistant Rooms Division Manager will oversee all front-of-house operations, including front desk, concierge, housekeeping, and guest services, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality hospitality. This role reports directly to the General Manager and plays a pivotal part in driving guest satisfaction, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the rooms division team, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of service.
  • Monitor and optimize room occupancy, revenue, and yield management in collaboration with the sales and revenue teams.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and brand standards across all operational areas.
  • Handle guest relations, resolving escalated complaints and implementing feedback loops to enhance the guest experience.
  • Develop and implement departmental budgets, controlling costs while maximizing profitability.
  • Foster a positive work culture, promoting diversity, inclusion, and employee development.
  • Analyze performance metrics using hotel management software (e.g., Opera or similar) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and other departments to ensure room readiness and overall property efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in hotel operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within rooms division.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate and develop diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in hotel PMS systems, revenue management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English required, additional languages a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid and knowledge of HACCP or similar safety protocols is advantageous.
