This is a sales role that involves generating leads, conducting market research, developing sales strategies, managing client relationships, and achieving sales targets in the utility management sector. The position requires engaging with potential clients, traveling abroad for customer visits, and fostering strong client relationships to maximize sales performance.
1. Lead Generation, Market Research, and Business Development:
- Proactively identify and generate leads for potential B2B and B2G customers in the utilities management sector.
- Conduct market research to discover new opportunities, stay updated on industry trends, and monitor competitor activities.
- Develop and implement strategic business development initiatives to drive company growth, including forming partnerships and expanding the company's offerings.
- Leverage various channels, such as social media, industry events, and personal networks, to expand the company's network.
2. Client Engagement and Relationship Management
- Establish contact with potential clients through cold calls, emails, or face-to-face meetings & visits.
- Independently manage the first 1 or 2 meetings with clients, showcasing the company's offerings and building rapport.
- Collaborate with a Presales engineer during subsequent meetings to provide technical expertise and support.
- Travel abroad for customer visits, with each visit lasting between 4 and 40 days usually, maybe more, as it's different from one country to another, as part of a regional sales strategy.
3. Sales Strategy and Execution
- Implement tailored sales strategies to meet the needs of B2B and B2G clients in the utility management sector.
- Collaborate with the product development team to ensure that our products meet the needs of the customers and the market.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our products and services, as well as industry trends and competitive landscape.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets while continuously monitoring and analyzing sales performance.
4. Client Relations and Sales Support
- Foster strong relationships with clients throughout the sales process by addressing concerns and answering questions.
- Coordinate with the operation team to ensure a seamless transition from sales to implementation.
- In addition to consistently maintaining communication with current clients to identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling, it's also essential to follow up on all communication with them, including letters and emails. This ensures that any questions or concerns they may have are addressed promptly, further strengthening their satisfaction and loyalty.
- Manage the tendering/offer process by gathering the opportunity requirements, preparing necessary tendering documents, and ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Follow up on the submittals and offers (financial and technical) by reviewing and verifying all submitted tender documents, clarifying any issues or concerns, and presenting the final proposal to clients.
- Monitor the entire offer/tendering process and provide regular updates to clients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have, and ensuring that all requirements are met according to their satisfaction.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred Engineering, or any related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sales (Utilities Industry is preferred)
- Experience in the metering industry is preferred or any related industries.
- Sales Certifications are preferred
