Associate Business Developer

Job Purpose
The Business Development Associate will play a key role in supporting the growth and outreach of IECC. The role contributes to identifying business opportunities, supporting partnership development, preparing proposals, and assisting in the execution of engagement activities with local and international partners.
This position supports our mission of empowering startups, SMEs, and innovators by driving collaboration, building connections across the ecosystem, and contributing to the sustainability and expansion of IECC's programs, projects, and services.
Major Responsibilities
- Conduct regular market scans to identify potential partners, grant opportunities, and service tenders aligned with IECC's goals.
- Support internal due diligence to ensure clear understanding of IECC's services, programs, and strategic objectives.
- Map and update stakeholder databases, including partners, corporates, and ecosystem players.
- Monitor national and regional ecosystem trends, grant calls, and innovation-related programs.
- Assist in preparing concept notes, business proposals, presentations, and service catalogues for various programs and initiatives.
- Contribute to maintaining updated business records and documentation for all projects and partnerships.
- Support bid-management processes by collecting documentation, forms, and compliance materials as required by donors or partners.
- Working with the marketing team on showcasing the center's capabilities, potential, services, as well as impact.
- Represent IECC in events, workshops, and ecosystem activities to strengthen the Center's visibility and relationships.
- Connecting with the internal program leaders to be aware of clients, partners, and beneficiaries' satisfaction levels with the delivered services.
- Support communication and engagement with investors, funding bodies, and ecosystem partners.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Technology Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years in business development, preferably within the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Familiarity with proposal writing, CRM tools, and visual presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Canva).
- Excellent communication, Negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent planning, organizing time, and work management.
- Strong network-building skills with research institutions and tech providers.
- Strong persuasive communication and storytelling skills for pitching business opportunities.
- Very Good understanding of the Egyptian entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem, with experience in building ecosystem collaborations.
