**Summary
The Project Officer, Educational Programme and Events, serves as a key member of the World
Scout Bureau's (WSB) - Arab Support Centre team responsible for overseeing the development,
implementation, and evaluation of Scout programmes and regional events. The incumbent will lead
this area to ensure the delivery of high-quality programmes and events that align with the
organisation's mission and values, engage participants, and contribute to the overall growth and
impact of Scouting in the Arab Scout Region.
**Responsibilities**
- Programme development and implementation:
- Support the development of innovative and engaging national youth programmes
that cater to the diverse needs and interests of young people.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including programme specialists,
volunteers, and partners, to design and implement educational initiatives.
- Ensure programme materials, resources, and guidelines are accessible and
effectively communicated to participants and stakeholders.
- Event planning and delivery:
- Oversee the planning and execution of Regional Scout Events, including
Jamborees, Moots, Conferences, and Forums, ensuring they meet established
objectives and standards.
- Coordinate logístical arrangements, including venue selection, accommodations,
transportation, catering, and safety protocols, to ensure smooth event operations.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, and resources to optimise efficiency and cost
- effectiveness.
- Evaluation and continuous improvement:
- Establish metrics and evaluation methods to assess the impact and effectiveness of
programmes and events, soliciting feedback from participants, volunteers, and
stakeholders.
- Analyse evaluation data to identify areas for improvement and innovation,
implementing changes to enhance programme quality and participant satisfaction.
- Compliance and risk management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and safety standards
governing programmes and events.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and liabilities associated with programme and
event activities, implementing proactive measures to safeguard participants and
assets.

**Job requirements**
**Experience, skills, and qualifications**:
- Degree in business administration, event management, recreation, education, or a related
field.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in programme development, preferably in non-profit
organisations working with youth programmes and events.
- Experience in managing large-scale events.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing educational programmes.
- Experience in developing and implementing recreational programmes, as well as planning
and delivering large-scale events.
- Scouting experience at national and/or international level is a must.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to
achieve shared goals.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities, including budgeting,
- scheduling, and resource allocation.- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and
collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Creativity and innovation in programme and event design with a focus on engaging and
- empowering participants.- Knowledge of risk management principles and practices as well as experience in
emergency preparedness and crisis management.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required (other languages are considered an asset).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, event management software, and online collaboration
tools.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel domestically and internationally as needed.
