Job DescriptionDescription

To ensure effective establishment of WHO country presence for implementing aligned cooperation strategies with Member State's health and development agendas, and harmonized with United Nations country teams.


Description of Duties:
  • Network and Hardware
    • Monitor and maintain local servers LAN and e-mail system, create and modify accounts.
    • Administer and maintain disk storage backups.
    • Configure printers and photocopiers properly, propose new printing solutions if needed.
    • Set up all CO workstations and laptop computers.
    • Assist in evaluating needs for new hardware.

Technical Support and Training:
  • Provide full IT support for meetings and events as per ASO directives.
  • Implement specific ITT services in the CO under EMRO guidance.
  • Identify and solve technical problems, provide user support and basic computing skills training.
  • Maintain office software, ensure virus scanning software is up to date, organize software storage.

Management:
  • Maintain log files and configuration tables.
  • Keep contact with IT suppliers, monitor computer consumables stock.
  • Perform basic programming tasks, update high priority MS Office templates.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Completion of secondary education; Training in informatics or telecommunication.
    • Formal training on Windows Operating Systems, MS Office Suite.
    • University degree in Computer sciences, Computer engineering, or related field is an asset.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of experience in operation of computers, hardware maintenance/troubleshooting.
    • Relevant experience in the UN system is desirable.
  • Use of Language Skills:
    • Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic.
    • Knowledge of French is an asset.
