An Assistant Group, Conference and Events (GC&E;) Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the groups, conference and events strategy, recommending growth efforts, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the hotel is commercially positioned within the local marketplace.
The Assistant GC&E; Manager will promote the services and facilities of the Hotel, and designs marketing and sales strategies to increase revenue.
Responsible for the event planning and overall execution of all conference and events that take place. It involves leadership, creative, analytical, commercial and administrative responsibilities.What will I be doing?
An Assistant Group, Conference and Events (GC&E;) Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the groups, conference and events strategy, recommending growth efforts, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the hotel is commercially positioned within the local marketplace.
The Assistant GC&E; Manager will promote the services and facilities of the Hotel, and designs marketing and sales strategies to increase revenue.
Responsible for the event planning and overall execution of all conference and events that take place. It involves leadership, creative, analytical, commercial and administrative responsibilities.Specifically, a GC&E; Assistant Sales Manager will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist the GC&E; Sales Manager to maximise revenue and profit through proactive selling techniques, calendar/time management, and pricing strategy
- Ensure the highest standards of conference and banqueting business processes
- Communicate, liaise and network with relevant stakeholders (including colleagues, customers, meeting and event planners and suppliers) to convert & execute business inquiries. Maintain excellent working relationship from initial lead call through followup, qualification and maintain contact with all support departments until event conclusion.
- Support the GC&E; team with drafting contracts and Banquet Event Orders (BEO). Distribute BEO's, reader boards and change logs with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely communication of event requirements and updates.
- Conduct site inspections to promote the Hotel's facilities and services.
- Identify external opportunities, competition & trends contributing to the conversion & selling strategy of the hotel.
- Liaise with 3rd party suppliers, planners & organizations; establish relationship & agreements to optimize capture & drive business objective.
- Maintain strong internal control of the working environment, such that it is always in compliance Hilton and the Hotel brand's policies and procedures
- Ensure communication meetings occur and are accompanied by documentation/minutes on a monthly basis
- Manage staff performance in compliance with company policies and procedures

- Previous experience working within the hospitality industry in a similar role
- Demonstrated previous experience in similar role
- Proven commercial acumen
- Ability to demonstrate negotiation and influencing skills
- Effective management skills
- Ability to manage conflict effectively
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Commercial and industry knowledge.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel.
