Therapy Area Medical Lead

**Key Areas of Responsibility**:
- Provide leadership, rare disease medical team management and take accountability for all therapy area / brands related medical, scientific and clinical research activities.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to develop strategic therapy area products plans for the optimal dissemination of scientific evidence by the team in pre and post product launch phases according local health authority guidelines.
- Drive projects & activities in collaboration with medical societies / KEEs, disseminate the latest narratives to external experts with ownership for exceeding.
Customers' needs and expectations across the therapeutic area.
- Pursue our dedication to excel and impact in what we do and in support of improving outcomes in rare disease Therapy area.
- Provide broad and deep understanding cross-functionally. Seen as expert by all customers.
- Organize and deliver education and training to employees within the sales and marketing function to ensure their knowledge is kept up to date.
- Ensure rare disease Medical Affairs team members performance plans (including MAs/ MSLs Plans) are effective at supporting TA goals and objectives and are effective at engaging KEEs optimally.
- Ensure Country rare disease Medical Affairs plans are effective at achieving TA Country goals; Coordinate and support Country Medical staff in their execution of rare disease Brand Medical plans.
- Coordinates the launch of new clinical trials/Medical research projects or market access projects.
- Coordinate all local medical, scientific & clinical research contributions to Global, International and / or MEA therapy area related projects as deemed necessary.
- Ensuring all outgoing materials are scientifically and medically accurate.
- Share insights with relevant partners within organization in a timely and consistent manner.
- Responsible for managing rare disease medical budget across NEMAG Countries.
- Develops a team that ensures all brand materials for a therapy area are kept up to date and accurate.
- Ensures that all branding work is carried out in accordance with AstraZeneca standards and regulation.
- People management & Team Development is a responsibility, including ensuring efficient team structure.
- Governance and ensuring adherence to processes and regulation [include but not limit to patient safety, clinical trials, promotional activities, informative activities, etc. ]
**Minimum Criteria and Proficiencies**:
- Advanced scientific degree Bachelor, Diploma, master’s degree, or PhD in a life science.
- Previous experience in rare disease and /or oncology
- knowledge of assigned area. Physician/Doctor degree is an addition/preferred education.
- Extensive experience of Medical Affairs function within the pharmaceutical industry (5 years minimum).
- Medical Affairs Filed Experience.
- Extensive experience in relationship, partner management and partnership.
- Project management experience.
- Extensive team management experience.
- Critical thinking and leadership stance.
