5G Principle Test Automation Engineer - Platform System Validation

We are looking for a 5G Principle Platform Testing & Automation Engineer with a strong testing and test automation background in highly scalable distributed systems as well as experience working in agile engineering teams.

**Responsibilities**:
As a Principle 5G Platform Testing & Automation Engineer, you will be part of the team building Dell’s 5G Platform for RAN Software with optimal performance. As part of our 5G team, you will work in collaboration with multiple 5G engineering teams around the world.

You will:

- Act as Technical lead/ Test Automation SME for different testing & automation activities across different scrum teams.
- Review and analyze different Platform functional and non-functional requirements and define the testing strategy & plans for execution.
- Ensure proper quality measures and practices are implemented to build high quality software and be Team quality advocate thorough all testing levels
- Implement and execute functional & non-functional tests including different system performance tests and OS cyclic tests and build automation roadmap within the team.
- Perform requirement traceability to ensure testing coverage of different features & requirements and measure automation coverage within.
- Report bugs in different SDLC stages and follow through to resolution as a member of the overall 5G product team
- Work with the team to identify best tools, frameworks & simulators to execute different testing levels.

Essential Requirements:

- 8+ years of relevant experience in test automation in different systems
- Experience in building, maintaining and optimizing automation frameworks meeting technical and business requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of Linux environment (system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols, troubleshooting/Debugging, networking) and bash/shell scripting
- Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of modern Software Quality Assurance methodologies and best of class industry practices
- Familiar with Cloud Native Applications, microservices architecture, containers and container management (K8s or OpenShift)
- Experience with the ROBOT Test automation framework
- Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: C++, Python, Go and excellent knowledge of Object-oriented programming and Data Structures
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the CI/CD development environment

Desirable Requirements:

- Experience with networking protocols and security testing
- Knowledge of the 3GPP LTE and 5GNR technologies and 3GPP specification
- Good Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, sockets, security, and common Internet services/protocols: SNMP, DNS, LDAP, NTP, HTTP)
