Principal 5G RAN Engineer

From applied research to advanced engineering, Dell’s 5G R&D team is designing and developing ground-breaking products & solutions. You will be involved in assessing the market, developing technology and products while generating intellectual property. Your contributions will drive product architecture and implementation in support of building something from the ground up, all while working with colleagues across the globe to ensure Dell products always lead the way.

What you’ll achieve

As a Principal 5G RAN Engineer, you will work with a cross functional global team to design, build and deliver production ready software with Dell standards, aimed at adding machine learning based intelligence to the RAN. As part of the 5G team, you will work in collaboration with multiple teams around the world.

You will:

- Work closely with developers and data scientists in formalizing RAN related features / use cases.
- Provide technical guidance to the team.
- Contribute to features testing and validation.
- Contribute to the choice of the adequate ML algorithm.
- Formalize PoC scope.
- Keep up to date with various O-RAN activities.
- Key contributor in creating differentiators for Dell 5G RAN products.

Essential Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in telecom.
- Experience in 4G radio networks (5G experience is a plus).
- Good knowledge of 3GPP and/or O-RAN architectures & specifications
- Good knowledge of Air interface & scheduling mechanisms.
- Basic knowledge of IP and Ethernet.
- Experience in RAN optimization, feature validation, and activation.
- Basic knowledge of agile development methods.

Desirable Requirements
- Python & machine learning experience.
- Previous experience in conducting technical training / sessions.
- Knowledge of different QoS techniques
- Experience in RAN dimensioning.
