Manager Contingency Risk

**Role Purpose**

The central lead of the Egypt Business Continuity and Incident Management function, is responsible for the development, promulgation, implementation, and testing of HSBC Egypt’s Business Continuity and Incident Management plans. With specialist skills, this position ensures effective Business Continuity Management by coordinating and implementing business impact analysis, risk mitigation, Business Continuity plan development and effective emergency response. Ensures HSBC Bank Egypt contingency response planning strategies are effective in the event these are required to be invoked and are aligned with Regional and Local regulatory standards and requirements. Ensures strengthening of Egypt BCM infrastructure with support from Egypt Senior Management. Ensures implementation of Group BCM projects, tools and best practices within Egypt.

**Impact on the Business**
- Review and analyse Business Continuity plans, policies and practices, and escalate concerns, problems and issues to Egypt Senior Management for endorsement and decision making.
- Formulate and coordinate completion of the mandatory BCM activities and ensure the deliverables are completed on-time in close liaisen with all countrywide Customer Groups.
- Manage testing regimes for critical services and products and facilitate conducting BC exercises.

**Customers / Stakeholders**
- Primarily accountable and responsible to guide and facilitate BCIM activities within Egypt.
- Development of seamless BCM framework for entire Egypt operations
- Scoping, designing and implementing customised BCM solutions to ensure planning our response against specific and situational crisis scenarios.
- Act as the focal point for escalation of any BC related issues in Egypt.

**Leadership & Teamwork**
- Maintain a sound working environment within Egypt SR. Promote an environment of open communication.
- Develop rapport with key Industry and Regulatory contacts as well as with Egypt Customer Groups and regional counterparties.
- Raise Business Continuity awareness within the Bank through conducting training and information sessions.

**Operational Effectiveness & Control**
- Ensure timely review and creation of BC plans as per required BCIM standards.
- Ensure that BC Exercises are completed timely and as required by BCIM Standards
- Ensure BCIM is managed appropriately, and in line with Group standards.
- Ensure BCIM related internal controls are in place, and monitor the performance of these controls in accordance with regulations.

**Internal Control**
- Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

**INTERNAL BUSINESS PROCESS**
- To be alert to operational risks and losses during the execution of their day to day responsibilities. Should an employee become aware of emerging or inadequately controlled operational risk or identify an operational risk loss, they must report this to their Line manager, ensuring that it is reported to their Local Operational Risk Co-ordinator.
- To ensure that governance and organisation over operational risk and internal control is implemented in line with the Group Operational FIM.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of Business Continuity Management issues and understanding of specific local threats and hazards.
- Working experience in leading and managing Business Continuity programs.
- Knowledge of BCM industry trends and practices. Professional BC Certification, Attachment to regional BCM operations site.
- Ability to work across all levels of the organisation, from executive management to individual employees.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence senior executives.
- Sound knowledge of internal and external Banking operations and policy documents i.e. BCM Standards, FIM, the Central Bank of Egypt guidelines on Business Continuity, ISO 22301 standard etc.
- Working knowledge of the underlying technology infrastructure within HSBC.
