Role Summary
The
Catering Sales Manager
is responsible for generating and managing catering sales for events, banquets, and corporate functions.
This role requires a professional who has
previous hotel experience in a similar position
, with a strong understanding of hospitality service standards, client relationship management, and event coordination from sales to execution.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Acquisition
Identify and develop new catering and event business opportunities.
- Conduct sales calls, site inspections, and client meetings to promote catering facilities.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and event agencies.
Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close sales deals according to hotel policies.
Event Coordination
Liaise closely with the Operations, Kitchen, and Banqueting teams to ensure smooth event execution.
- Manage client requirements from initial inquiry through to post-event feedback.
Supervise on-site events as required to guarantee service quality and client satisfaction.
Revenue & Target Management
Achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by management.
- Maximize revenue by upselling menus, beverages, and additional services.
Track performance metrics (conversion rate, revenue per event, client retention).
Administration & Reporting
Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
Coordinate with the Finance team on invoicing and payment follow-up.
Market Intelligence
Conduct competitor analysis to identify trends and market positioning opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of marketing and promotional campaigns for catering services.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field. - Minimum 3–5 years of experience
in a
Catering Sales or Event Sales position within a 4- or 5-star hotel
— this is a
mandatory requirement
. - Proven record of achieving sales targets and delivering high-quality events.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in
Microsoft Office
and hotel sales systems (e.g., Opera, Delphi, Salesforce). - Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and handle demanding clients professionally.
