  • We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Head of People & Workplace to lead and build our people's operations and cultivate an exceptional company culture at Sand. As the senior-most people leader on-site, you will have full ownership of the employee experience, from talent acquisition to workplace environment. This is a hands-on leadership role for abuilder who is passionate about creating systems and fostering culture. You will work autonomously, receiving strategic advice and guidance from the Group HR Director to ensure alignment on best practices while hiring, training, and managing our workplace administration team.

Key Responsibilities

People & Culture Strategy:

Culture Development:

  • Partner with Sand's leadership to define, champion, and embed a unique and high-performing workplace culture that attracts and retains top talent.

HR Leadership:

  • Act as the primary strategic advisor to the local management team on all people-related matters, including organizational design, employee relations,and talent management.

Strategic Alignment:

  • Develop and implement HR initiatives that drive Sand's business objectives, drawing on best practices and guidance from the Group HR function.1
  • People Operations Execution:

Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for all roles at our company,ensuring a world-class candidate experience from initial contact to final offer.

Employee Lifecycle Management:

  • Own and continuously improve the entire employee journey, including designing a memorable onboarding experience and a smooth, professional offboarding process.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a trusted resource and advisor for all employees,coaching managers and staff through complex employee relations issues with empathy and integrity.

HR Systems & Compliance:

  • Ensure operational excellence in all HR administrative functions, including benefits administration, compliance with Egyptian Labor Law,and management of employee records.
  • Workplace Management & Team Leadership:

Workplace Experience:

  • Cultivate a world-class office environment that is productive, welcoming, and reflects the Sand brand and values.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, train, and mentor the Office Administrator/Coordinator,delegating all routine administrative tasks to ensure their professional growth and the efficiency of office operations.

Office Oversight:

  • Oversee all office and facilities management, including vendor negotiations, budget management, and health & safety protocols.

Executive & Corporate Liaison:

Executive Assistance:

  • Provide high-level operational and administrative support to executive committee members to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness.

Corporate Interface:

  • Serve as the central point of contact between the Sand office and holding company support functions, including Group HR, Legal, and Finance, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources/People Operations.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or senior individual contributor role with the ability to operate autonomously.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, training, or directly managing junior staff.
  • Deep and practical knowledge of Egyptian labor law and HR best practices.
  • A true passion for and experience in building and scaling a positive, high-performance company culture.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
