Job purpose

To Lead the assigned Electrical technical office team, ensuring technical accuracy, design integrity, timely delivery of shop drawings and BIM models. while coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve technical issues and optimize project outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

1. Project Study & Planning

  • Study the project's, BOQs, drawings, and specifications to fully understand the operational requirements.
  • Conduct a review of the design and technical documents (IFT & IFC) to identify gaps, raise technical queries (TQs/RFIs) if needed.

2. Shop Drawings & Technical Submissions

·      Develop task schedules, allocate resources, and assign responsibilities to the assigned Electrical team.

  • Manage the preparation of complete, accurate electrical shop drawings in coordination with all trades.
  • Review created shop drawings before submission to consultant for approval.
  • Prepare the shop drawings/composite drawings as per the time schedule

3. BIM Submissions:

  • Issue BIM model or upgrade the existing BIM model to a level of detailing as per time schedule for all projects in order to facilitate T.O.T, recognize clashes & solve them during the process of arranging SD.

4. Consultant & Site Coordination

  • Monitor and notify any variation orders during the construction phase, coordinating timely documentation and approvals.
  • Attend site meetings to address and resolve technical issues in collaboration with the site team, ensuring smooth project implementation.

Job Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Electrical Engineering
  • Professional certifications (e.g.,
    PMP
    ,
    BIM
    , or
    Revit MEP
    ) are an advantage.

Experience:

  • 10–12 years
    of experience in
    electrical technical office
    work within construction or contracting companies.
  • Proven experience in
    shop drawing preparation, design review, and coordination
    with consultants and site teams.
  • Solid background in
    BIM modeling
    and coordination between MEP trades.
  • Previous experience with
    large-scale or complex projects
    (commercial, residential, industrial) is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of
    electrical systems design
    (lighting, power, low current, etc.).
  • Strong command of
    AutoCAD
    ,
    Revit MEP
    , and
    Navisworks
    .
  • Familiarity with
    ETAP
    ,
    Dialux
    , and other electrical calculation tools.
  • Good understanding of
    local and international standards
    (e.g., IEC, NEC, BS).
  • Strong ability to review and interpret
    technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications
    .

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and
    team management
    capabilities.
  • Excellent
    coordination and communication
    skills with consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
  • High attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to
    work under pressure
    and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in
    English
    (spoken and written);
    Arabic
    is an advantage.
