JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

ACCESS Health International is seeking a strategic and analytical Research Manager to lead the design, execution, and management of evidence-based research initiatives that strengthen program effectiveness and inform policy and practice. The role focuses on developing primary and secondary research, conducting qualitative, quantitative, and field studies, and producing policy papers and analytical reports across health and development areas.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Designing and leading comprehensive research studies, including both primary and secondary research across diverse health and development domains.
• Conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses, employing advanced tools for data collection, interpretation, and synthesis to generate actionable insights.
• Overseeing field research activities, including survey design, stakeholder interviews, focus group discussions, and data validation to ensure methodological rigor and quality assurance.
• Leading the development of policy briefs, research reports, and white papers, translating evidence into practical policy recommendations for governments, donors, and partners.
• Managing multi-sectoral research projects from concept to dissemination, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets.
• Collaborating with national and regional stakeholders, research institutions, and technical experts to strengthen evidence generation and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior researchers and consultants on study design, data analysis, and publication development.
• Utilizing insights to inform strategic planning, advocacy, and program design within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications

Preferred Completed PhD degree or equivalent in Public Health, Healthcare Research, Development Studies, International Relations, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 10+ years of extensive experience in designing and implementing qualitative, quantitative, and field research studies across diverse health and development areas.
• Strong background in developing policy papers, white papers, and analytical reports, translating data-driven insights into actionable recommendations.
• Demonstrated expertise in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), with a strong foundation in the mental health segment as an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong strategic planning, market analysis, and research skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work across diverse teams and build long-term institutional relationships.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and proposal development tools.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is required.

NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT:

The selected candidate shall be offered a two-year contract, with the possibility of extension.
