Job Purpose:

The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing all purchasing and procurement activities related to construction projects. The role ensures the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, and services, while maintaining quality standards and full compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and execute all procurement and purchasing operations for construction projects.

Review purchase requests and ensure accuracy of technical specifications and project requirements.

Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices, terms, and delivery schedules.

Analyze technical and financial offers and prepare detailed comparison sheets for management approval.

Maintain and update an approved vendor and subcontractor database.

Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and compliance with quality standards.

Monitor supplier performance and maintain professional relationships with key vendors.

Coordinate with technical, project, and warehouse teams to ensure actual site needs are met.

Prepare periodic procurement reports, including cost tracking and supplier performance analysis.

Support in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures.

Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers and track price trends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement within construction or contracting companies (mandatory).

Strong knowledge of construction materials and local supplier markets.

Proven experience in negotiation and vendor management.

Proficiency in ERP systems.

Excellent analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
