Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Group Underwriting Supervisor located in Cairo, Egypt. The Group Underwriting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting process, evaluating and managing risk for group insurance applications, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The role includes training and mentoring junior underwriters, collaborating with the sales and actuarial teams to develop underwriting strategies, and analyzing demographic and financial data to make informed underwriting decisions,
ensuring clarity in pricing methods and compliance with the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA). Additional tasks involve pricing risks for various insurance products, developing corporate insurance solutions, analyzing portfolio profitability, and conducting data analysis on group medical claims to identify trends and improve statistical insights. The goal is to achieve growth while maintaining the existing portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Knowledge of Insurance industry practices,
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Group Underwriting functions, Group Life, Group Health, and Credit Life, PA & Pension pricing is a plus
  • Experience in training and mentoring staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on-site in Cairo, Egypt
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Business, actuary or Statistics
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Life Underwriter) are an advantage
