Job Purpose

The Workshop Engineer is responsible for ensuring high-quality vehicle diagnostics, repair accuracy, workshop workflow efficiency, and adherence to automotive safety and quality standards. The role focuses on technical expertise, problem-solving, and supporting technicians to deliver exceptional service and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics using OEM diagnostic tools and automotive software.
  • Identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in vehicles and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support to technicians on complex repair cases.
  • Ensure repairs align with manufacturer standards, warranty policies, and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate daily job allocation and ensure efficient workflow within the workshop.
  • Monitor repair progress, ensuring timely completion of work orders.
  • Support the Workshop Manager in implementing efficiency improvements and reducing vehicle turnaround time.
  • Review and verify job cards, technical reports, and repair documentation.
  • Conduct post-repair inspection and quality checks before vehicle delivery.
  • Monitor the use of tools, equipment, and ensure calibration compliance.
  • Provide technical explanations to Service Advisors for accurate customer communication.
  • Support with resolving escalated technical complaints.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with Parts, Service Advisors, and Workshop Controller.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Mechanical Engineering
    ,
    Automotive Engineering
    , or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in an automotive workshop environment.
  • OEM training certifications are a plus.
  • Valid driving license.
