Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Head of Credit located in Cairo. The Head of Credit will be responsible for overseeing the credit management operations, including assessing and managing credit risk, analyzing financial statements, and monitoring the credit portfolio. Daily tasks include developing credit policies, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic leadership to the credit team to achieve organizational financial goals.

Brief about the role :

  • Credit Risk Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of credit risk across our lending portfolio, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.

  • Scoring Model Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of a new credit scoring model that utilizes alternative data sources to enhance the accuracy and reliability of credit assessments.

  • Data Analysis: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to leverage alternative data, including transactional, behavioral, and social data, to build a comprehensive risk assessment framework.

  • Risk Policy Formulation: Develop and refine risk policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure that our risk management practices align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Monitoring & Reporting: Establish robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track the performance of the lending portfolio and the effectiveness of the scoring model.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product development, data science, and technology teams to integrate risk management practices into the product lifecycle seamlessly.

  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing risk management team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all risk management activities comply with local regulatory requirements and international standards.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance product offerings and customer experience.

Establishing Alerts, Caps for the portfolio and submit the RAROC and monitoring reports to the credit and investment committee.

Qualifications

  • Credit Management skills
  • Strong Analytical Skills and experience in Finance
  • Portfolio Management experience
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work independently and take strategic decisions
  • Experience in the financial industry is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or equivalent qualification is preferred
