We are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced SENIOR EH&S Engineer (M/F). Very interesting compensation.
This professional will be based in Alamein (Egypt).
Role Overview:
The Senior EH&S Engineer, will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety programs at Alamein project to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment. This includes reviewing and approving risk assessments, performing inspections and audits, and providing EHS expertise and training to employees and management.
They often lead improvement projects, act as a subject matter expert, and ensure policies and procedures are updated to align with best practices and legal requirements.
On a typical day you will:
- Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs covering areas like emergency preparedness, hazard communication, etc.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with local and company EHS regulations. Conduct regular inspections and FPA audits to assess safety and identify areas for improvement.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and assess workplace hazards and potential risks. Develop and implement control measures and risk management programs to mitigate these risks.
- Training and Expertise: Provide technical expertise and training to employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Incident Investigation: Lead accident and incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Project Leadership: Lead and execute EHS-related improvement projects.
- Reporting and Analysis: Analyze data and prepare reports on EHS performance for both management and regulatory agencies.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments and cross-functional teams to promote a strong culture of safety.
What You Will Need to be Successful:
- 5 - 8 years of experience in the field of EH&S
- Elevator and Escalator business experience is an advantage
- Strong technical expertise in EHS and related disciplines.
- English language skills
- Leadership and influencing skills to drive change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to translate complex information to different levels of the organization.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills for problem-solving.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience in process hazard analysis (PHA) is often required.
