Job Summary:

Responsible for the day-to day operations for the Facilities Mechanical & Electrical & Civil works.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provide support to operation of all Electrical & Mechanical Equipment and Engineering support.
  • Work other shifts to provide direction to the entire Electrical & Mechanical staff (not just day shift) and to provide support on expedited projects with short deadlines.
  • Assist in Technical & Administrative direction to the Electrical & Mechanical Supervisors and Staff.
  • Review jobs to insure quality and compliance with job standards.
  • Oversee improvements, changes or new techniques or procedures.
  • Provide recommendations to the Sr. Eng. regarding Electrical & Mechanical planning, scheduling, safety and training activities.
  • Recommends applicants for employment for discipline, termination or retention.
  • Assure that safety regulations are being enforced in the fiel
  • Supervise inspection and maintenance of life safety systems.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Submit to the Sr. Eng. Work Orders, equipment purchases, tools and supplies associated with the Electrical & Mechanical trades.
  • Pursue costs of various jobs and provides costs to the Sr. Engineer as required.
  • Review records of jobs performed departmental charge codes and hours worked by employees
  • Coordinates effectively with other Supervisors to obtain the desired outcome.
  • Assist in Utility operations & troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate manpower deployment and planning for leaves & shift assignments.
  • Use these sketches to develop projects and acquire approvals from ASSIH or Alameda HODS before proceeding with the work.
  • Incorporate these AutoCAD documents into the as-built as necessary.
  • Initiate proper start-up and shot down activities for planned and unplanned shutdowns/start-ups.
  • Responsible for operation of all Electrical & Mechanical Equipment and Engineering support.
  • Monitors jobs to insure quality and compliance with job standards.
  • Mechanical planning, scheduling, safety and training activities.
  • Recommends improvements, changes or new techniques or procedures.
  • Manages Mechanical planning, scheduling, safety and training activities.
  • Teaches and enforces safety regulations.
  • Directs inspection and maintenance of life safety systems.
  • Coordinates activities with other trades areas and outside contractors.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Education: Diploma in Industrial Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the same field
  • Training: by Chartered Engineer and as needed for all specialty trades to maintain competency and to keep up with technical improvements
  • Skills: Computer skills such as Building Management System (BMS or CMMS), Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint), and strong communication skills (English & Arabic).
