Job Summary

The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and vendors at our busy medical clinic. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, efficiently managing front desk operations, and supporting clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including verifying insurance information and collecting co-pays.
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls; respond to patient inquiries and schedule appointments.
  • Maintain and update patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Coordinate with medical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and waiting area.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
  • Assist with billing, data entry, and other clerical duties as needed.
  • Provide support for special projects or clinic events as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or healthcare administration coursework preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a medical office or large clinic setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner) highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Working Conditions
