Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and mentor a team of automation QA engineers.
  • Define the automation roadmap for mobile testing (Android & iOS).
  • Establish best practices, coding standards, and quality guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to improve CI/CD, release cycles, and test stability.

Automation Framework Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust Appium-based automation frameworks (Java/Python/JavaScript).
  • Build scalable test suites (smoke, regression, end-to-end).
  • Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Ensure test scripts are maintainable, modular, and optimized for performance.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee planning, execution, and reporting of automated and manual test cycles.
  • Participate in technical design discussions to ensure testability.
  • Identify quality risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Perform code reviews of automation scripts created by the team.
  • Ensure comprehensive mobile coverage for UI, API, and integration testing.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with product managers and developers to define acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with DevOps to improve environment stability and test execution speed.
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and results to stakeholders.

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in automated testing, with at least
    3+ years in Appium
    .
  • Strong programming skills in
    Java
    (preferred) or
    Python/JavaScript
    .
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Appium (Android/iOS)
  • Selenium / WebDriver
  • TestNG / JUnit / Mocha / PyTest
  • API automation (Postman, RestAssured, Karate, etc.)
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with cloud device farms (BrowserStack, AWS Device Farm, Sauce Labs).
  • Strong debugging skills for mobile platforms and automation scripts.

Leadership Skills

  • Proven experience leading QA/Automation teams.
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor junior engineers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
