We are seeking an experienced
Mechanical Engineer - Team Lead
to manage our mechanical engineering team in Egypt. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading design and supervision activities across HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building services, while ensuring compliance with Egyptian codes and international standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination on a wide range of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and draftsmen, ensuring efficient task allocation and high-quality output.
  • Provide technical support and professional development guidance to junior staff.
  • Supervise the preparation of drawings, reports, and documentation.
  • Oversee the design of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and building services).
  • Review calculations, technical drawings, and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure alignment with Egyptian building codes, authority requirements, and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, etc.).
  • Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize system performance and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and infrastructure disciplines.
  • Manage project schedules and resources for the mechanical scope.
  • Attend design coordination and client meetings, providing technical input and presentations when needed.
  • Support in preparing technical proposals, BOQs, and tender documents.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering,
  • Proven experience in both design consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and authority regulations in Egypt.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, and other relevant software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
