Role Overview:

The Quantity Surveyor (Q.S.) Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of project cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control throughout the design, construction, and maintenance stages of water-related projects, including artificial lakes, pools, fountains, and water treatment systems. The role ensures that all projects are completed within the approved budget, in compliance with contractual requirements, and aligned with company standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed
    cost estimates
    ,
    bills of quantities (BOQs)
    , and
    tender documents
    for water feature and treatment projects.
  • Conduct
    quantity take-offs
    and material measurements from design drawings and technical specifications.
  • Evaluate and analyze
    contractor and supplier quotations
    , ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare and monitor
    project budgets
    ,
    cash flow forecasts
    , and
    cost control reports
    .
  • Coordinate with the
    design, procurement, and site execution teams
    to track material usage and project progress.
  • Assess and validate
    variations, change orders, and claims
    during construction stages.
  • Support the
    procurement process
    by providing cost analysis and recommendations for supplier selection.
  • Perform
    cost reconciliation
    and
    final account settlements
    at project close-out.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all
    cost data, contracts, and correspondence
    related to financial matters.
  • Ensure compliance with
    company quality, safety, and environmental standards
    throughout all project phases.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in
    Civil Engineering
    ,
    Construction Management
    , or related field.
  • Minimum
    3–5 years of experience
    as a Q.S. Engineer, preferably in
    water feature construction
    or
    MEP-related projects
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    cost estimation methods
    ,
    contract management
    , and
    construction budgeting
    .
  • Familiarity with
    FIDIC
    and other standard construction contracts.
  • Proficiency in
    AutoCAD
    ,
    Excel
    ,
    Primavera
    , and
    cost estimation software
    .
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and documentation.
