We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices, coupled with excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Quantity Estimating (Pre & Post Contract):
     Prepare and review accurate quantity take-off sheets for all project items. Develop comprehensive quantity estimates for both pre-contract bidding and post-contract valuations, including progress payment purposes.
  • Budget Management & Value for Money:
     Review and update project budgets throughout the lifecycle, ensuring value for money is demonstrated through meticulous cost control. Arrange and manage project payments effectively.
  • Financial Administration:
     Maintain a comprehensive project filing system for all payments, variations, and financial claims. Gather necessary data and documentation from site and other departments related to main contract payments, variations, and financial aspects of claims.
  • Payment Certification:
     Prepare monthly interim payment certificates for submission to the client, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual agreements.
  • Variation Management:
     Review and evaluate new variation orders, meticulously detailing technical and cost implications for each. Submit comprehensive particulars for each variation.
  • Data Management & Reporting:
     Collect and analyze relevant project data, ensuring all financial aspects of the project are meticulously documented and reported.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor Engineer in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction practices and procedures, including contract administration, cost control, and payment processes.
  • Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
