We are seeking a Data Engineer to support the development and maintenance of data pipelines, metadata catalogs, and governance practices within the IBM data ecosystem. This role works closely with senior engineers to deliver trusted data assets and ensure compliance with data quality and lineage standards.

About the Role

The Data Engineer will play a crucial role in building and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with various teams to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data pipelines using IBM DataStage
  • Configure metadata and lineage tracking in Watson Knowledge Catalog
  • Assist in integrating IBM Cloud Pak for Data with other enterprise data platforms
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and BI team to meet business requirements
  • Document processes and contribute

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Required Skills

  • 2-4 years in data engineering roles, including hands-on IBM Cloud Pak for Data
  • Working knowledge of IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D)
  • Experience building structured data pipelines using IBM tools
  • Proficient in SQL and basic scripting (Python or Shell)
  • Understanding of data quality, metadata, and cataloging principles
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment
