Production Manager

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to manage day-to-day production activities in our plastic manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing teams, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing manufacturing processes to meet customer demands efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

• Plan, organize, and control daily production activities to meet output targets and delivery schedules

• Coordinate with planning and scheduling teams to ensure material availability and production readiness

• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address bottlenecks or issues

• Ensure optimal utilization of equipment, materials, and labor resources

• Manage production workflows across multiple shifts

Team Supervision & Development

• Supervise and coordinate production supervisors, shift leaders, and production operators

• Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members

• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, priorities, and performance metrics

• Identify training needs and coordinate skill development programs

• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment

Quality Control

• Ensure all products meet quality specifications and customer requirements

• Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the production process

• Investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective actions

• Work closely with Quality Assurance team to maintain standards

• Reduce scrap rates and minimize production defects

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment

• Conduct safety briefings and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations

• Participate in safety audits and incident investigations

• Promote safety awareness and best practices among production staff

• Ensure environmental compliance in all production activities

Process Improvement

• Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

• Analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities

• Implement best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency

• Support new product introductions and process changes

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports

• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including OEE, cycle times, and yield

• Maintain accurate production records and documentation

• Report equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance team

• Provide regular updates to Plant Manager on production status

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in production/manufacturing operations

• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience

• Strong experience in plastic manufacturing processes (injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, etc.)

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Strong leadership and team-building skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities

• Proficient in production planning systems and Microsoft Office

• Understanding of safety regulations and quality management systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with plastic processing equipment and molding parameters

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean certification

• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems

• Experience with automated manufacturing systems

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality standards

• Strong understanding of polymer materials and their properties
