Job Title: Regional Adviser

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Regional Adviser to join our team at the World Health Organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical advice and policy development services in the area of public health and nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Member States in developing and implementing national nutrition programmes
  • Provide technical advice on policies and strategies related to public health and nutrition
  • Develop institutional capacity for sustainable results of WHO action programmes in the areas assigned
  • Coordinate the design of frameworks and guidelines for Member States and their institutions
  • Design and disseminate standard procedures, guidelines, and tools for collection and analysis of information on assigned topics
  • Lead and expand WHO's leadership in assigned areas of specialization
  • Build partnerships and collaborate with technical networks, institutions, universities, and WHO Collaborating Centers
  • Foster collaboration and coordinate efforts with international partners and donor agencies
  • Lead and coordinate information seminars, workshops, and awareness/advocacy campaigns
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues at all levels in WHO and external partners and collaborators
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Medicine, Public Health, or related field
  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in public health and nutrition
  • Expert knowledge of the substantive field of work and excellent drafting skills
  • Proven ability to manage the work of a team and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate professional competence and mastery of subject matter
