We seek an experienced, well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Physical Education to teach across the Junior and Senior schools. You will be working as part of a highly committed team of specialists delivering the PE curriculum, including IGCSE, and sport as part of the co-curricular programme. The Physical Education Department works effectively as a team across the whole school, sharing ideas, promoting learning and contributing to high academic standards. The school is expanding its provision and hopes to introduce Sport Science in the Sixth Form. Our students love sports, are passionate and committed to representing BISC in competitive local, regional and international tournaments.
BISC offers opportunities for professional development and all members of staff actively contribute to whole-school improvement. Teachers are expected to show a genuine commitment to the School's mission, to promoting student welfare and to participate actively in the co-curricular programme. This is a key component of the role of a PE teacher in the school.

Person Specification
- enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a genuine passion for teaching, who can motivate and inspire students using a variety of strategies;
- recent experience teaching PE within the National Curriculum for England and (I)GCSE;
- includes assessment for learning as an integral part of classroom practice;
- understands how to stretch more able students and support pupils;
- works collaboratively as a member of a team;
- committed to her/his own professional development;
- enjoys the opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities;
- meets the School’s safeguarding requirements in full.
To comply with Egyptian employment law, applicants must have QTS and a MINIMUM of three years teaching post qualification teaching experience.
**Remuneration**
The British International School, Cairo (BISC) offers a highly competitive tax free salary, paid entirely in Pound Sterling and directly into a UK bank account.
In addition, expat teachers benefit from a generous housing allowance, private BUPA Gold medical insurance which includes family dependents, annual return flights to the UK, and 2 free places for children of school age.
Exceptionally, our staff full salary is paid in foreign currency (GBP). The very low cost of living mean staff are able to save significantly, while still enjoying a great quality of life. A guide to costs can be found here:
