Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people _either _frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

**ROLE PURPOSE**:
The key purpose of this role is managing the staff safeguarding and staff relations components in human resources department, this includes developing & implementing Save the Children staff safeguarding standards, policies and procedures in Egypt country Office, additionally,, conflict management resolutions; the role holder is responsible for the implementation of staff safeguarding measures pertaining Save the Children office’s staff, and in coordination with different office stakeholders (i. _e. Mental Health team, Risk and compliance & Human Resources _).

This role is a significant contributor into culture change, by promoting staff safeguarding essential elements including staff wellness and staff relations for the Egypt office, the role will work with country office stakeholders to understand their needs and act upon staff safeguarding best practices, based on the recommended outcomes. In this critical role, you will spearhead complex investigations into safeguarding concerns involving staff, ensuring thoroughness, fairness, and adherence to the highest ethical standards

The role holder works closely with the provision of Human Resources Lead, Risk and compliance unit and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) advisors (if required) including reporting on key trends and challenges to senior management.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

- Work closely in coordination with HR management and Risk and Compliance team on revision and/or creation of best practices regarding staff safeguarding policies/procedures/and regulations.
- Communicate & Assess regularly on staff safeguarding awareness using different resources and tools, including leading on staff safeguarding sessions in inductions for new comers, refreshers on quarterly basis for present staff;
- Act as the main focal point on conflict resolution, work-related stress and other concerns that may arise at the work-place;
- Develop local referral mechanism for supporting staff (making sure all local support services are mapped, regularly updated and visible/known to all employees) so staff is aware of available support options and referred appropriately.
- Manage save the children international (SCI) staff safeguarding case reporting system (DATIX), this includes follow-up on submitted cases, coordinate investigation meetings, and lead on investigations.
- Handle investigations of alleged staff misconduct related to safeguarding concerns, utilizing strong analytical and critical thinking skills to uncover facts and establish timelines.
- Prepare comprehensive investigation reports and present findings and recommendation for final case closures, ensuring all SCI templates are used and uploaded on DATIX;
- Providing clear recommendations for action and demonstrating strong communication skills, this includes following-up on action tracker as an outcome of the investigation report _(e.g. ensuring appropriate disciplinary action and safeguarding measures are executed) _
- Develop a staff safeguarding case tracker, including cases received on HR mailbox, to analysis finding and identify trends, to enable management in taking corrective action accordingly.
- Act as the focal point for staff relations assessments, ensuring conflict management is handled in line with SCI policies and procedures;
- Organize different mediation sessions conducted to line managers and staff on handling conflict, this includes conflict resulted on performance. Ensure conflict on performance management processes is well followed in line with Save the Children Policy.
- Ensure the highest level of confidentiality is maintained with regard to all sensitive personnel data and in line with Save the Children’s guidelines and procedures on Data Protection.
- Resolving escalated and complex employee relations issues by guiding managers and employees, making recommendations on the organization’s response to employees.
- Manage staff conflicts in coordination with HRD and line managers, coordinate clearly with HRD on staff Safeguarding matters and reports from DATIX system (when applicable).
