**About the Role**

**As our Deputy Middle East Breaking News Editor you will**:

- Support the Breaking News Editor in managing a dynamic team covering news from across the region
- Publish alerts on breaking news clearly, accurately and quickly; write follow up stories and updates at speed to meet the needs of Reuters financial, professional and media clients
- Work under pressure in a very fast-paced environment
- Rapidly digest statements on political, financial, economic, energy and commodities news, as well as speeches, tweets and TV broadcasts, breaking out the essential information
- Get the news first to Reuters subscribers

**About You**

**To be our Deputy Middle East Breaking News Editor you will require**:

- Excellent command of the Arabic and English languages
- A strong understanding of the main issues at play in the region
- A solid knowledge of the energy and financial industries
- Ability to inspire and help manage a team in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Readiness to work early or late shifts
- Ability to work closely with a large team across the Middle East
- Be a strong team player
