Change & Release Manager

**About the role**:
Job Purpose:
Part of Multi-sourcing Service Integration MSI Center.
Responsible for managing Change/Release/Deployment procedures, Receiving, and Prioritizing Requests, Evaluating the risk level associated with Requests, and keeping through records of the outcome of each. Control the lifecycle of all Change/Releases/Deployments and enable beneficial Changes to be made, with minimum disruption to IT services
- Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

- The Change Manager: Responsible for managing the lifecycle of all changes, with the primary responsibility of enabling beneficial changes to be made with mínimal disruption to the business.
- The Release Manager: plays a combined coordination and governance/oversight role - tasked with ensuring that the release is completed effectively and safely.
- Develop Release Management Strategy for the BASF Environment
- Present to the customer the Release Management strategy and Release Management Program during planned activities
- Invoke Periodic Minor upgrades at a minimum Bi
- Yearly
- Proactively subscribe to supplier notifications for releases and vulnerabilities
- Provide Release Management reporting on environment Release status and Planning
- Managing Scope & Project Tracker, updating both on daily basis
- Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates.
- Work with Technical Managers, Consultant and Engineering for Release Validation
- Work with Customer Release Management & Change Management to agree on Release deployment planning
- Support and manage Release Management activities for LAN (Switches, Controllers)
- Support and manage Release Management activities for WAN (Vedges, Routers) with Types Cisco, Nexus, Modular Switches ,..etc.
- Cleanup and leveling of the Releases on the environment
- Responsible for managing the lifecycle of all changes, with the primary responsibility of enabling beneficial changes to be made with mínimal disruption to the business.
- Prepare/Review RFC & allocate Priority/ Risk/ Schedule to Each Change/Release Deployment
- Change Documentation in OBS Tools
- Convene and chair the change advisory board (CAB) and emergency change (eCAB), ensuring the information presented to these groups is complete and provides them with the information they need to make informed decisions about the changes, prioritizing and approving them, or rejecting them.
- Align with all necessary parties to coordinate Change Implementation & Testing in accordance with schedules
- Update the Change with actions taken along with improvements/Lessons learned
- Supervision of Failed Changes & document through PIR (Post Implementation Review)
- Work closely with the incident and problem manager to ensure issues having a negative impact on the business are prioritized for repair for incidents upon changes
- Regular Process Discussion with Customer & Service Management for Continual Improvements
- Tools Enhancements through Continual Discussions with OBS & Customer Developers

**About you**:
Skills / Qualifications:

- Experience and knowledge of ITIL Change & Release Management Principles, Methodologies and Tools.
- A solid understanding of how people go through a Change, Release & Deployment using their processes.
- Excellent Knowledge of Networking Technologies (LAN/WAN/UC)
- Exceptional Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong Skills in Process, Continual Improvement, Enhancements Negotiations.
- Excellent active listening skills
- Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships internally and externally
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
- Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
- Problem solving and root cause identification skills
- Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
- Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
- Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
- Willing to work in extended hours/On call.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English

Educational background:

- Degree in Telecommunication, Computer Sciences Engineering.
- Customer Service and Project Management Experience.
- ITIL foundation Certificate is a must.
- CCNA Certificate is a must.
- CCNP is a Plus.
- ITIL Managing Professional or ITIL Strategic Leader is a Plus.
- Scrum Master certificate is Preferable.

Professional Experience:

- 5-10 years’ experience in telecommunications field
- 5-10 years’ Experience in networking operational environment (IPT/VOIP/IP)
- 5-10 years’ experience in a Customer-Oriented position
