Facilities Manager

Ensuring that the school campus and facilities are well maintained in a manner that allows students to benefit from the state-of-the-art campus and the full range of a SABIS® education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the commissioning and handover of all plants, equipment, and campus buildings.
- Monitoring the maintenance of all functional building systems relating to campus utilities; ensuring minimization of disruptions to the running of the campus facilities arising from maintenance incidents.
- Conducting daily inspections of the new construction, repair work, grounds, special projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and assets are well maintained.
- Establishing a plan for preventive maintenance to avoid problems and defects in equipment.
- Planning, organizing, and overseeing the implementation of planned preventative maintenance, routine maintenance and any special projects within budget and set KPI’s.
- Ensuring that all completed work of any preventive maintenance, health, safety and security incident is being filed properly, along with the analysis of the maintenance expenses.
- Ensuring that the school grounds and exterior areas are attractive and well-kept by planning work assignments and actively supervising the quality of grounds keeping services.
- Producing periodic utility reports in a timely manner.
- Reporting any faults or damages, identifying loopholes, sharing recommendations, and following-up on corrective measures.
- Ensuring that established standards are achieved by regularly inspecting the work of grounds personnel, directing corrective measures to be taken when necessary and appropriate, in addition to conducting and coordinating the training of groundskeepers on the safe and proper operation of all tools and equipment.
- Ensuring that all building management equipment is operating within defined performance expectations, and overseeing service-level
- agreements with third parties.
- Researching new products, for the purpose of recommending purchases, and maintaining a wide range of services.
- Responding to all maintenance-related inquiries from different stakeholders aiming at resolving problems, providing information, and/or referring to appropriate personnel.
- Providing a safe campus environment by supervising and coordinating the removal of any unnecessary obstacle from all school grounds and checking on the following: toilets (leakage, broken, exhaust fan), lighting of classes/administration building, broken glass, boards, AC temperature, gym equipment, chlorine testing in the swimming pool (if available), school maintenance book (if any request).
- Organizing school bus schedules and routes and ensuring that vehicles meet all safety standards; supervising the performance of drivers and bus helpers and ensuring they are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
- Fostering good working relationships with statutory regulators to ensure compliance with rules and regulations at all times.
- Liaising with officials in governmental departments on matters related to school and building licenses and other legal paperwork.
- Ensuring that all visitors, staff, and outsourced personnel are adequately instructed in environmental health, safety, and welfare whilst on campus; responding adequately to emergencies or urgent issues arising.
- Overseeing the implementation of Solid Waste Management.
- Performing such other related tasks as needed and requested by the School Management.
Ideal Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in a related field
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the maintenance field in other facilities _(schools, hotels, resorts, industries, construction projects, etc.)_
- Arabic is a must
- Good English communication skills are required
- Good experience in the MEP systems _(Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems)_
- _Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software; Revit is a plus_
