Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academics team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for the undergraduate HUM201:Exploring Cultures class for the upcoming Spring quarter, starting 4/1/2024 in a hybrid format. The hybrid format is described as teaching the course in both the in-person and online modalities. This role requires 11 in-person meeting sessions for 2 hours every week held at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at a specific Strayer University Campus. The balance of the course is instructed asynchronously online.

Strayer Adjunct Faculty are not just instructors; they are also coaches and mentors. Our faculty members strive to ignite a life-long love of learning in our students and to be flexible with their diverse learning styles. We believe in a strong faculty-student relationship and building a community in the classroom.- Teach courses as assigned from a pre-designed curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction.- Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.- Arrive on-campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in-person sessions per week during the academic quarter.- Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the online component of the course.-
- Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.- Adhere to University policies and procedures.- Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.

Job Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.- Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.- Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.- Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Effective time management skills.

Work Experience:
- Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.- Work experience in the Field preferred.

**Education**:
- Master’s level degree in the discipline of Humanities from a regionally accredited institution or possess a Master’s degree accompanied by a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits in the discipline.- A terminal degree, or work towards a terminal degree, is preferred.

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).

Other:
- Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s).- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.- Typical office setting.- Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.- Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.- Access information using a computer.- Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.- Effectively cope with stressful situations.- Strong mental acuity.- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.Leadership behaviors
