**Compensation and Benefits Specialist**

**Purpose of the job**

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist, supports a wide variety of HR related activities. This includes but is not limited to the coordination and administration of compensation and benefits programs by assessing the personnel needs and draft targeted programs that will increase performance, organizational trust and satisfaction through monetary and non-monetary awards that Coptic Orphans provides to its employees in return for their work. The Compensation Benefits Specialist will oversee and perform organizations payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed accurately and on time, and in compliance with government regulations.

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist will also evaluate position descriptions to determine details such as classification. S/he responsibilities will also include navigating HR databases for all phases of an employee lifecycle, including managing and updating the HRIS systems, benefits, payroll and projects as well as ensuring the delivery of human resources services and programs to the countries assigned.

**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
- Provide global support for the various compensation life cycle events including annual merit planning, and equity processes.
- Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures.
- Identifies and selects carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience in conjunction with third party vendors while ensuring compliance with plan requirements (COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA).
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition team) to improve the efficiency and quality of compensation processes.
- Perform intermediate to advanced analytics to inform compensation and benefits projects and program audits.
- Support the HR Director in designing the Reward Framework, providing insight to the organization around job mapping and leveling.
- Assist HR and business leaders on employment related matters that impact compensation and benefits such as collaborating with work councils, identifying when U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), discussing pay transparency and other internal policies
- Support Corporate Benefits in various communication campaigns and Health and Welfare benefit updates, globally. Customizes communication materials, provides training, and manages process timeline to ensure organizational readiness, awareness and action.
- Research in best practices across countries and work with Compensation & Benefits providers in determining best policies.
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- supports the administration of all aspects of the US employee retirement, health and welfare benefit plans
- Conducts employee surveys, Compensation and benefit survey completion and benchmarking analysis as needed
- Administers employee insurance programs including life, disability, and health insurance plans as well as employee savings plans that may include the company's 403(b) plan, personal savings plans, and deferred compensation programs.

**Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or any related field. An HR certification (SHRM-CP, CCP, GRP, or CBP certification) is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience administering compensation and/or payroll, and benefits programs required.
- Experience with a nonprofit or related organization
- Self-directed, yet effective working member of a collaborative HR team.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Responsive and customer-focused with a demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment.
- Excellent speaking/writing/reading of English and Arabic. Exposure to Coptic culture is a plus.
- Strong Analytical and critical thinking and Data analysis
- Knowledge of legal policies

**Travel and Working requirements**
- Limited to office work environment; sitting, typing, walking and occasional lifting of boxes and luggage.
- Working out of the official hours and on weekends may be required.
