**Summary of the job**:
As Manager, Therapeutic Area Communications you will play a key role in shaping Janssen’s profile as a leading innovative company across the external and internal stakeholder landscape. As a key partner within internal business groups you will shape and deliver a wining communications strategy in close collaboration with other functions including medical, marketing, regulatory and commercial.

The Communications & Public Affairs function (CPA) strengthens, protects and defends Johnson & Johnson’s / Janssen’s reputation to deliver on Our Purpose to change the trajectory of health for humanity.

**The responsibilities and the impact YOU will have**:

- The Manager CPA will assume responsibility for strategic planning, and for developing and implementing integrated external and internal communication strategies which engage and influence our key audiences.
- Other responsibilities include Therapeutic Area communications, creating and executing social media strategies, inspiring and engaging our employees, crisis and issues management, executive communications, and thought leadership positioning.
- You will help build and protect the reputation of Janssen and Johnson & Johnson, and support our growth objectives across the therapeutic areas we focus on therapeutic areas, notably Immunology, Neuroscience, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, Hematology, Oncology, HIV/AIDS and Vaccines across JENA.
- You will also provide strategic communications and public affairs guidance to our local leadership team and local teams, partnering closely with relevant country value teams and our Managing Director as well as other functions across the business.

- Masters level degree in a related discipline
- 6-10 years of experience in a similar communications position.
- Previous Pharma industry experience (in a communications role) is plus.
- Background in shaping, developing and implementing innovative and integrated communications strategies to support business positioning, reputation and strategic priorities.
- A successful track record of developing integrated corporate communications and public affairs strategies and tactics including social media to drive both corporate and Therapeutic Areas business needs with a high focus on measurement
- Digital savviness and a can-do approach.
- A thorough understanding of what it takes to proactively engage, inform, and influence key external stakeholders, including local media, regarding issues important to Janssen and the healthcare industry.
- Strong stakeholder leadership skills and well-versed in driving initiatives through to fruition in sophisticated, matrix organized environments.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with the ability to assimilate complex business messages and briefs, produce clear and purposeful communications across all channels.
- Outstanding writing and presentation skills in business English and Arabic
- Solid experience in managing agencies and adapting regional and global campaigns to suit local markets.
